About Journal

Heritage of Southwest Asia is a peer-reviewed academic journal affiliated with the Ancient Research Encyclopedia Institute. It is published biannually (two issues per year). The primary language of the journal is Persian, and each article is accompanied by an English Article of 1,200–1,500 words.

With an interdisciplinary perspective, the journal publishes original research and review articles in the fields of archaeology, archaeometry, conservation, cultural heritage architecture, and other historical–cultural studies related to Iran and neighboring regions.

Heritage of Southwest Asia is an open-access journal, which means that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide. In addition, the journal does not charge authors any fees for submission, review, or publication.

The peer-review process is conducted on a double-blind basis by at least two expert reviewers. The standard review period ranges from 4 to 10 weeks. The journal operates in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ethical charter of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to these ethical standards.

By providing a rigorous and accessible platform, Heritage of Southwest Asia seeks to advance scholarship in archaeology and cultural heritage studies, contributing to both the academic understanding of the region and its integration into global scholarly discourse.
