Heritage of Southwest Asia (HSAJ) is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal committed to the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly research in archaeology, cultural heritage, conservation and restoration, art history, architecture, museology, and related interdisciplinary fields.
All articles published by HSAJ are freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. Readers may access, read, download, print, search, and link to the full text of published articles without subscription, registration, or payment. The journal does not impose any embargo period on access to its published content.
Authors retain the copyright and intellectual property rights to their published articles. By publishing with HSAJ, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right of first publication and the right to publish, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly available as part of the scholarly record.

HSAJ is committed to reducing financial barriers to scholarly communication. No Article Processing Charge (APC) or submission fee is charged to authors for the publication of articles. Readers are not required to pay subscription or access fees to read or download published articles.
Any exceptional or additional charges, if introduced in the future, will be clearly stated on the journal website before they apply and will not be concealed from authors or readers.
Open access to HSAJ articles begins immediately upon their official publication on the journal website. There is no embargo period, paywall, or subscription requirement for accessing the full text of published articles.
